The game is played on a 9x9 board. Each player has 24 stones of their color (blue or yellow). The goal is to surround the red stone with the players color in the four main directions: above, below, left and right of the red stone.
Players can push the rows or columns from outside. It is not possible to move a row partially, initiated from within the row or column, if there is another stone in that row or column before the stone to be moved. The move is only possible if the given player has majority in the row or column. In case there are the same amount of stones of each player in the row or column, that row or column cannot be moved. All stones that are possible to be moved by the player, are highlighted with a subtle glow in the players color. The glow is highlighting the direction, whereto the row or column could be moved. There are also arrows, showing the direction a particular stone can be moved towards.
There two main game modes:
1. PRACTICE MODE
In practice mode, you are able to play on the classic board with a human opponent (using the same device -- much more comfortable to do that on an iPad) or also against all levels of the AI built in. Level 1 AI is a beginner player, AI 6 is really challenging. Be prepared for the challenge mode with some practice.
In Practice mode, it is also possible to take back a step (via pressing the step counter), and it is possible to switch on or off the AI (allowing the possibility that the blue player can be played by another player).
2. CHALLENGE MODE
You go through against all AI levels. Once you are in challenge mode, there is no way back to PRACTICE (only if you complete all 6 levels). At the end of all 6 levels you get a huge surprise :) (but dont expect too much :) ).
There are different music elements across the game, depending on the AI level (in challenge mode), or you can play without music and also without sound effects.
